Weatherwise a much calmer day. This photo was taken along the banks of the River Deben at Bawdsey. The strange looking blocks are anti tank blocks dating from WWII. They were used in vulnerable places to prevent invasion by military vehicles and can still be found today all over the UK. As a child I can remember many hours of fun jumping from one to another and playing hide and seek around them!
A wild day down by the sea. An empty seafront. No people, no cars, not even a seagull!! (Sorry about the quality of the photo - taken through the car window!)
A trip to the library this afternoon and these are my latest loans. I have always loved Barbara Dickson's music so when I read of her autobiography release I just had to make a reservation on the new title. Jackie Kennedy was an idol of mine back in the 60's - so I will enjoy reading of her again and the Time Out in Sydney book - just being nosey really I wanted to read of some of the lovely places my daughter might be visiting next month!!
I've just arrived in the 21st. century! This is my new mobile phone. If I can get my head around it I will be able to use it as a GPS, get worldwide maps and identify the stars in the sky - as well as talking to my family and friends!!
A trip into town with my daughter to buy some "must have" items for her big trip to Australia - 17 days to go!! Time for a gingerbread latte from Starbucks before we came home.
Gateway to Christchurch Park, Ipswich. All entrances - archways, gateways and doorways hold a fascination for me. I always wonder what I will find inside! This park has some super features - the Mansion, the Wilderness Pond and the Arboretum to name a few. I love the worn down step on this gateway - how many people have passed this way before?
